In the UK, the OnePlus 7 5G has announced an official release date and a telecom carrier, but there are no plans about the same in the US except for a 4G LTE version. The first OnePlus phone that supports 5G will be launched in the second half of 2019 in the UK by the telecom carrier EE, as reported by the news channels.
In Mobile World Congress 2019 this Monday, it is being said that there will be a teaser for OnePlus 7 5G prototype except for the consumers at the USA since they will be offered OnePlus 7T.
The OnePlus 6 was announced on May 16 last year and released on May 22, therefore, it makes sense to launch OnePlus 7 near about in Q2 2019, specifically between April 1 and the June 30. The specifications of OnePlus 7 are said to be confirmed, and it would follow the usual higher specs with a lower price strategy. OnePlus 7 is going to have the Snapdragon 855 chipset and Qualcomm’s 5G-capable X50 modem. Even the Samsung Galaxy S10, S10 Plus and S10E phones, and also the future Samsung Galaxy Fold will have the Snapdragon 855 chipset.
The smartphones with 5G technology are supposed to be more expensive across the mobile industry but OnePlus might break the ranks on pricing since OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau had indicated in an interview that he wants to keep them below $1,000 (or about Euro766 and AUD 1,402).
Though Samsung has been discreet about the pricing of its 5G phones, it is hoped to be more than $1,000 as this is the same price at which the 4G LTE Galaxy S10 Plus with a smaller screen, smaller battery, and one less camera is being offered to the consumers.
